Program Outcomes

Students who complete the STEM Studies certificate will be able to:

• apply the vocabulary, foundational theories, and problem-solving methodologies that define scientific literacy and scientific method in the natural world;
• demonstrate proficiency in understanding, interpreting, evaluating, and applying quantitative data and information;
• demonstrate proficiency in research writing skills; and
• explore pathways and demonstrate preparedness for educational and career development in the student’s field of study.

• INT 1050 - Dimensions of Self & Society
• ENG 1061 - English Composition
• MAT 1230 - College Algebra
• MAT 1330 - Pre-Calculus Mathematics
• Choose two 4-credit lab science courses

Technical Electives: 6-8 credits

Choose 6-8 credits: ARC, BIO, CIS, CHE, ENV, GEY, MAT, MEC, or PHY

Electives: 3-4 credits
