Liberal Studies (A.A.) with Specialization in Education +

The Liberal Studies degree with Specialization in Education prepares students interested in pursuing careers in K-12 education settings. The program provides a grounding in the liberal arts combined with foundational courses in field of Education. Students develop both the knowledge and skills required to serve in entry-level Education Support Professional roles in K-12 settings and complete foundational coursework needed to transfer to four-year bachelor’s degree Teacher Education programs. Students in this program complete the requirements of CCV’s Paraeducator Certificate.

Program and General Education Requirements


Extended Liberal Arts Learning and Electives - 12 credits


Students should work with their Coordinator of Student Advising to identify courses in their degree plan that meet transfer pathway goals.

General Education Requirements


All associate degrees include completion of general education requirements which, together with program requirements, constitute a minimum of 60 credits. In some cases program requirements also fulfill general education requirements. You may not use a single course to meet two general education requirements.

VSCS- These courses meet Vermont State College System General Education Framework.

Complete at least one course in each of the following:
