Cybersecurity has become essential for both professional and personal success as digital assets grow in value and complexity. The Cybersecurity and Networking certificate is designed for those who would like to develop practical cyber and networking skills, prepare for industry recognized credentials, and/or build a foundation for more advanced education and training in the field. The program prepares students with the competencies needed to protect systems, secure data, and support modern IT environments.
This certificate provides targeted preparation for the CompTIA Security+ and Network+ certification exams.
Students who complete the Cybersecurity and Networking certificate can apply those courses to the Information Technology (A.S.) + program.

Program Outcomes
Students who complete the Cybersecurity and Networking certificate will be able to: - Identify and analyze cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, attacks, and risk mitigation strategies;
- Explain the roles and functions of computing systems, networks, operating systems, and applications, and their associated security considerations and defenses;
- Apply foundational cybersecurity principles to diagnose system and network security issues and recommend appropriate defensive actions;
- Design and propose a cybersecurity defense plan to protect information systems and data at rest and in transit;
- Demonstrate understanding of the organizational, ethical, and professional responsibilities of cybersecurity practitioners, including governance, policy, risk management, and incident response;
- Demonstrate preparedness for educational and career development in the student’s field of study.
