Program Outcomes
Students who complete the Medical Billing & Coding certificate will be able to: - describe how the standards established by regulatory agencies influence health record documentation and the financial consequences of noncompliance;
- explain the legal and ethical standards that govern data accuracy, information security, patient privacy, and the appropriate release of health information;
- apply knowledge of medical terminology and body systems to properly code diagnoses, procedures, and services;
- demonstrate proficiency in writing, technological literacy, and interpersonal communication;
- demonstrate the ability to achieve a passing score on industry certification exams;
- demonstrate preparedness for educational and career development in the student’s field of study.
