This certificate prepares students for frontline operator positions in advanced manufacturing. Students will gain an understanding of foundational principles, tools, and safety protocols used in a variety of manufacturing environments. In addition, students will be introduced to more advanced concepts including precision measurement, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), and robotics & automation.

Courses taken in this certificate can be applied to CCV’s STEM Studies Associate degree program and students will be prepared to earn the nationally recognized Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification.

Program Outcomes


Students who complete the Manufacturing certificate will be able to:  

 

  • demonstrate and practice safety procedures used in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment;
  • identify and implement the tools and technical concepts commonly used in manufacturing settings;
  • apply critical thinking skills in designing and implementing technical solutions to challenging problems; 
  • implement quality control measures and techniques to ensure products meet design objectives; and
  • explore pathways and demonstrate preparedness for educational and career development in the student’s field of study.
