COM 1180 - Storytelling through Media

This course considers the audience experience in a converging media environment through a narrative built from different parts of a story and distributed across multiple media platforms. Every business has a story. This course will investigate the kinds of stories data produce, and what they tell us about our cultural and social behaviors. Students will explore opportunities and perils this information has for businesses and individuals and the implications for brands, audiences, content producers, and media companies. Special emphasis will be placed on media planning and buying to increase profitability, longevity, and customer engagement through a more robust, integrative and vibrant marketing campaign.
