ENG 2312 - American Literature: Civil War to the Present Credits: 3
Surveys important works in the development of American literary tradition from the Reconstruction period following the Civil War to the present day. Readings include works of poetry, fiction, drama and critical prose. Students explore what it means to be “American,” including paying close attention to how race, class, and gender are represented in these works.
