ARH 1040 - History and Meaning of Public Art Credits: 3 Students explore the evolution, meaning, and impact of global public art. Students examine various forms of public art, including murals, sculptures, architectural structures, installations, and performances, and consider how public art has the ability to both reflect and critique the values of a culture, including how it relates to cultural identity, community engagement, and social commentary. The course covers historical and contemporary public artworks, including sanctioned and unsanctioned work.
