MEC 1320 - Manufacturing Technology Credits: 3 This course introduces students to the manufacturing processes through an exploration of the basics of production. Students will explore the types of machining, manufacturing planning, production control, and product distribution and will learn the product life cycle from conception through distribution. The course focuses on the technologies used in production processes, including basic power systems, energy transfer systems, machine operation, and control. Upon completion, students will have the opportunity to earn the Manufacturing Processes and Production Certification, and the Maintenance Awareness Certification through the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC). Successful completion of Principles of Manufacturing or at least one year of manufacturing experience required.
