CED 0712 - Video: A Tool For Change

This workshop explores how video can be a tool for personal, social, and political change. Moving images have been a powerful part of movements for change throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, and today, video makes it possible for everyone to express him or herself and to participate in social and political dialog. New, accessible methods of distribution, like YouTube and PEG Access TV, make video an even more visible part of contemporary life. Workshop participants will learn about the history of the moving image as a tool for change and create their own videos to explore the personal, social, and political dimensions of video making.
