AHS 1510 - Spa Techniques

Credits: 3

This course introduces the history of spa and hydrotherapy techniques and explores the modern relationship between the two. Students will learn clinical and aesthetic applications, indications and contraindications of modern spa modalities. Course topics will incorporate general effects and therapeutic uses of hot/cold applications, wraps, scrubs, stones, soaks and aromatherapy. Prerequisites: Introduction to Massage & Bodywork and Human Anatomy & Physiology I.

Prerequisites: AHS 1025, BIO 2011;
